The Hunger Games
Production:
During the production process of the Hunger Games, CGI (computer generated imagery) has been used to create a variety of different settings and animals througout the film. By using CGI it increases the cinema experience as audience's are intrigued by the use of imagination and a world of unrealism. CGI has become increasingly prominant in the film industry, this digital imagey is also used in films such as: Twilight Saga, Avatar and Shrek. However, this technology is very expensive and is time consuming.
HD (high definition) is used in the majority of films nowadays as it enhances cinema and home experiences, due to the high quality of the picture. By using this, it makes audience's want to go and see films as the motion pictures are in such fine detail. Again this can be expensive for companies to use.
Green screens are commonly used in a lot of films, they are often used to change or add a setting into the background. Actors/actresses act in front of the screen and a background is added later. Green screens are relatively cheap to use and can be used over and over.

The film issued a teaser trailer which is released before the official trailer. This keeps the audience gripped and waiting for the next trailer. It also creates the anticipation for the film release, as well as enabling the audience to comment on the trailer. By commenting on the trailer, it lets the audience feel apart of the franchise and therefore, they can actively socialise with other fans.
Two or three official trailers may be released after the teaser. The official trailer is also longer than the teaser; this one lasts for around 2.5 minutes. By distributing a gripping trailer is makes the audience want to go and see the film, which results in a bigger profit at the box office.
A variety of press interviews take place which feature the stars of the film. This lets the audience feel connected with the actors and they like to here their thoughts and feedback. It also increases the promotion of the film.
The official website is still active due to 3 other films being released from the adaption of the 2 novels. The webitse also enables the audience to take an active part whilst the movie is being released.
