The Amazing Spider Man and Technology

An official website for the film was made. This gives the audience a connection to the film and enables them to research more into what it's about and look through a gallery of images.

A press interview was held at comic con which is a huge annual event that is extremely popular. The interviews are popular with audience's as many of the fans idolise the actors and love to hear from them. This also gains the film more publicity and we gain the personal views of the actors.

The teaser trailer is released before the main trailer. This gives the audience an insight into the film and keeps them gripped/interested. It entices the audience into wanting more.

The viral campaign involved getting the public to act out a spider man scene whilst dressing up as spider man. This created the excitement and suspense which enabled audience's to take an active part in the film.

This viral website was a marketing mechanism opened to the public whilst the film was being released. It is currently unavailable to view. The purpose of this would have been to increase promotion of the film and to allow the audience to feel more connected within the distribution.

The purpose of the website was initiating a game for audience's to take part in. Twitter unlocked the website and hints were sent out to a person who would turn up to a location and graffiti a spider. This would enable certain people to view the first scene of the film.

Trailers have enabled audiences to take an active part in giving the film feedback, for example - trailers are posted onto YouTube; therefore , allowing audiences to comment with their views.

Accounts on social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook were created to help the promotion of the film. Twitter allows topics to trend which would increase the recognition of the film whilst also allowing users to comment on the film and socially chatting about it together.

The film was released in over 60 countries; the release date in the UK was 3rd July 2012. The film was available to watch in 2D and 3D.

Imax: "The IMAX release will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images coupled with IMAX’s customised theatre geometry and powerful digital audio create a unique environment that will make you feel as if you are in the movie."

Batman: Institutions

Independent is the parent company of Warner Bros, who distributed the Batman Trilogy. This parent company has many subsidiaries, some of which include: HBO and IPC Media. Therefore, it would be vertically integrated. This is beneficial to the Batman film as the links enable more advertising and synergies in different areas of the media, such as: magazines and TV networks etc. As Warner Bros are a subsidiary of such as huge global company it enables their films to have higher budgets. Warner Bros also have links with Universal, for example: The Harry Potter series now has a theme park under their company in Florida.  Batman has many cross media conversions as it has been made in television shows, video games and soundtracks.
